The Tasmanian Community Fund (TCF) is calling for applications from not-for-profit community organisations to support community infrastructure projects that contribute to community wellbeing.
The Tasmanian Community Fund recognises the community’s ongoing need for infrastructure that provides places for the community to participate, build connection, and learn. Projects that fit within the definition of community infrastructure include the provision of buildings (new and renovations), equipment, technological and other infrastructure that enables the community to thrive.
For the 2022 Community Infrastructure Grant Round, priority will be given to rural and regional infrastructure. The Tasmanian Community Fund considers all of Tasmania rural and regional except the urban areas of Hobart, Glenorchy, Clarence, Launceston, Devonport and Burnie. The TCF will only consider community infrastructure applications from these urban areas if the project is targeted at people experiencing entrenched disadvantage.
Funding Information
- In this round, the Tasmanian Community Fund is seeking applications for projects that require between $50 000 and $300 000 of support from the TCF.
Eligible Project
Project funding is available for:
- Infrastructure projects that are tailored for the Tasmanian community
- Infrastructure and equipment
- Projects that have a minimum of 10% cash contribution (of the amount being sought from the TCF) from the applicant or another funding partner projects that include community collaboration and partnerships between organisations are
- Strongly encouraged projects that do not take longer than 3 years to complete
- Projects that do not take longer than 3 years to complete.
Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply, organisations must be:
- not for profit;
- incorporated, or be a not-for-profit legal entity, or sponsored by an incorporated organisation or a not-for-profit legal entity; and
- based in Tasmania, or proposing to undertake a project in Tasmania.

Preference in funding will be given to projects that best demonstrate: benefit to the Tasmanian community;
- innovation and proactivity;
- an integrated and collaborative approach, avoiding duplication;
- value for money;
- community support for the project, particularly from any partners;
- high levels of other financial or in-kind contributions;
- the ability to build and strengthen community capacity;
- good prospects for successful implementation; and
- volunteer and community involvement with the project.
