The Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affair (MOAPIA) is soliciting grant applications for its FY 2023 Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Community Grant from qualified Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) providing direct services to the District’s AAPI community.
In FY 2023, MOAPIA’s AAPI Community Grant will fund programs with demonstrated ties to Mayor Bowser’s priority areas and community needs in the following program areas: workforce development, youth engagement and education, health and linkage to human services, protecting housing affordability, civic engagement, and economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The programs should encompass culturally competent direct services that increase Asian American and Pacific Islander residents and small businesses owners’ capacity for independence and integration into and success in the general community.

- Education/Youth engagement
- Housing Affordability
- Workforce Development
- Public Safety
- Health & Human Service
- Civic Engagement
Funding Information
- Amount of Awards: Eligible organizations can be awarded up to $40,000.
- Performance Period: October 1, 2022 – September 30, 2023
Eligibility Criteria
Organizations that meet the following eligibility requirements at the time of application may apply:
- Be a Community-Based Organization (CBO) with a Federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or evidence of fiscal agent relationship with a 501 (c)(3) organization;
- The organization or program serves the District’s Asian American and Pacific Islander residents or business owners;
- The organization’s principal place of business is located in the District of Columbia;
- All services and programming to receive funds must be provided in the District of Columbia;
- The organization is currently registered in good standing with the DC Department of Consumer & Regulatory Affairs, Corporation Division, and the Office of Tax and Revenue;
- Current grantees must be current on any reporting obligations for the FY22 grant cycle and progress towards deliverables will be considered.
