The City of Oakland is seeking applications for its Neighborhood Voices Individual Artist Projects to build belonging within the dynamic neighborhoods of the City of Oakland by supporting culturally engaging efforts to bring their city’s community members together to foster cohesion during a time of social distancing.

VOICES amplifies the cultural expressions, stories, histories, and heritage found within Oakland’s neighborhoods-particularly neighborhoods and their community members who historically have not received equitable investments of resources or recognition.

They seeks applications from Individual Artists who are cultural practitioners seeking to engage Oakland-based community builders to develop neighborhood vibrancy and cohesion that culminates in a local, public outcome for the benefit of the community

Examples of Oakland-based community builders: social service organizations, civic/neighborhood/family associations, community development agencies, youth groups, Oakland Unified School District public and charter schools, senior centers, or community groups.
