Academic collaboration in the Baltic Sea region – a Swedish Institute (SI) funding programme has been launched to strengthen the macro-regional experience-sharing and joint development of practices, methodology and capacity for internationalization within higher education and research.

The Swedish Institute (SI) offers funding to Swedish universities, for projects together with their partners in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine. Universities from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland may also be involved. The overall thematic area is strengthened capacity for internationalization within higher education and research. The call is open to new as well as already established partnerships.

The programme offers project funding of two types, both of which with a Swedish university as the main applicant to SI. While the primary target group is key personnel at higher educational institutions (incl. researchers, teachers and other staff), also other types of organizations and expertise may be involved, depending on the project idea.
