The ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB), in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MOEF) of Indonesia has announced a first call for proposals for the Small Grants Programme for Indonesia in order to contribute to the achievement of the following objectives:
- To improve biodiversity protection in line with the interests of the local population directly dependent on selected AHPs and adjacent areas;
- To improve the livelihood of local communities directly dependent on selected AHPs or adjacent areas
Objectives
In Indonesia, the SGP pursues three specific objectives, namely:
- Sustainable livelihoods: Households and communities located in the priority areas benefit directly from the small grants programme, with improvements to their livelihoods
- Biodiversity Conservation: Biodiversity threats to the two ASEAN Heritage Parks are reduced.
- Co-management strengthened: Political and social support is increased for the integrity of AHPs and their values by District officials, government agencies and local stakeholders.
Grant Information
The funding of projects through a Medium Grant for the amount of EUR 100,0001 and duration of up to 4 months.

Eligibility Criteria
For this call, the following proponents are eligible to submit proposals:
- National non-governmental organisations (NGOs) which
- support biodiversity conservation, livelihood and community development related to AHPs and adjacent areas,
- operate on a non-profit basis, i.e. those whose activity is not meant to generate profit or which allocate profit for their statutory goals,
- registered in Indonesia with either MoEF or the respective eligible AHP and active for at least 18 months prior to the announcement date of the call for proposals.
- National non-governmental organisations (NGOs), which support biodiversity conservation, livelihood and community development related to AHPs and adjacent areas in a lead function of a cooperation with national consulting companies,
- International NGOs working in the field of biodiversity conservation and livelihood development which are officially registered in Indonesia or have signed MoUs with the respective governmental authorities for the implementation of proposed activities in the relevant areas.
