Africa Lead II and the CAADP Non-State Actors Coalition (CNC) has announced a small grants program to strengthen the network of Non-State Actors supporting CAADP in Nigeria, Senegal, Uganda, and Kenya.
The Program is carried out through a partnership between Africa Lead and the CNC. Proposals are funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to help surface creative and effective approaches to improve citizen engagement in national food security investment priorities.
Themes
The program aims to broaden the network of CAADP-aligned organizations to enhance citizen engagement, advocacy and advocacy strategies in one of the following themes:
- Commitment to the CAADP process
- Financing of investments in agriculture
- Eradication of Hunger
- Eradication of poverty through agriculture
- Intra-African trade in agricultural products and services
- Resilience to climate variability
- Mutual accountability for actions and results
Funding Information
Africa Lead/CNC anticipates awarding approximately 10-15 grants that will not exceed $15,000 USD each.
Eligibility Criteria
- This RFP is a public announcement to ensure that all interested and qualified organizations have the same opportunity to apply for funding.
- Organizations must be located in eligible countries, including Senegal, Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda.
- Eligible organizations include non-governmental organizations, community-based organizations, farmers’ organizations, research institutes, think tanks, public and private universities, private (non-profit) organizations, registered foundations and Civil society and consortia.
- Africa Lead encourages an approach that builds partnerships with several partner organizations by giving them support for development projects in the future.
- Candidate organizations must meet the following criteria:
- They must be legally recognized and registered, including the current registration to the Universal Data Numbering System (DUNS). The registration documents, the statutes and the DUNS number must be submitted
- They must not be affiliated with a political party or take part in political activities
- They should not focus solely on religious activities
