AHRC: Seeking Applications for ‘Cultural Heritage and Sustainable Development in Jordan’ Program

Applicants are invited to apply for the program entitled “Cultural Heritage and Sustainable Development in Jordan” which is developed by the Arts and Humanities Research Council of the UK (AHRC) with support from the Department of Antiquities of Jordan and in partnership with the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

This Newton-Khalidi funding call is for collaborative UK-Jordan research projects exploring the role of cultural heritage in delivering sustainable economic growth and social welfare in Jordan.

This funding call aims to bring together academic experts and wider partners from both the UK and Jordan. By supporting collaborative UK-Jordan research projects, it will explore Jordanian cultural heritage, and the role it can play in sustainable development and improving the economic and social welfare of people in Jordan.

Funding of up to £250,000 (full economic cost) on the UK side, plus matched resource from Jordanian partners, is available for projects of 24-36 months duration.
