Applications Open for 2020 Toyota Environmental Activities Grant Program – Japan

Denver Foundation inviting Nonprofits to Apply for Funding for the Care Fund

The Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) opened the application for this year’s Toyota Environmental Activities Grant Program, which supports environmental kaizen and conservation activities contributing to the sustainable development.

The Toyota Environmental Activities Grant Program was introduced to commemorate Toyota winning the Global 500 Award in 1999 from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and has carried it out every year since 2000, with this year marking the program’s 21st year.

The Toyota Environmental Activities Grant Program offers support for projects of NPOs and other private non-profit organizations aiming to develop human resources that will lead the next generation in environmental conservation, and seek solutions for environmental issues.

The program aims to contribute to the resolution of environmental concerns and cultivate a new generation of leaders who will drive change on both a local and global basis.

The Grant Program focuses on biodiversity and climate change. From the perspective of “monozukuri is about developing people,” Toyota supports the activities of private NPOs that promote projects to support develop human resources looking for solutions to environmental issues, and to also contribute to practical problem solving. This program is part of the initiative designed to help meet Challenge 6 of the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050, Challenge of Establishing a Future Society in Harmony with Nature.
