The Low Value Grants Programme is a Programme organized by the ‘Strengthening the Rule of Law and human rights protection in Uzbekistan’ project implemented jointly by UNDP in Uzbekistan and Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and funded by MFA Finland.
Objective
- Support civil society organizations specialized in provision of free legal aid to population (including vulnerable groups) that are focused on the thematic areas in providing primary free legal to vulnerable groups of populations (including women, youth and persons with disabilities) especially in remote and rural areas. The objective of the contest aligns with overall goal of the project to support reforms in the area of rule of law and human rights protection in Uzbekistan.
- Low Value Grants Programme is organized to support further development of free legal aid system for vulnerable groups (including women, youth and persons with disabilities) in rural and remote areas of Uzbekistan as well as to further strengthen capacities of NGOs by implementing activities related to provision of free legal aid.
Thematic Areas
- Thematic areas of the Programme are:
- provision of primary free legal aid to vulnerable groups of population (including women, youth and persons with disabilities);
- organization of legal awareness raising events;
- preparation and dissemination of digital and published materials/publications that aim to disseminate information on the legislation of Uzbekistan.
Funding Information
- The total budget of the Joint Contest is 50,000 USD.
- The maximum amount requested for one project shall not exceed 9,900 USD in local currency at the time of grant disbursement at the UNDP exchange rate.
Eligibility Criteria
- Non-governmental non-profit organizations that meet the following eligibility requirements can participatein the Small Grants Program:
- a legal entity registered in the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the time of the public announcement of Low Value Grants Program;
- Specializes in the provision of legal services outlined in the Call for Applications;
- has the organizational and technical structure and the potential for the successful implementation of the submitted project application.
