The Geyser Community Foundation is currently seeking applications for the Taupo Fund individuals, organisations and businesses in the Taupo district community who want to contribute towards a permanent legacy for the benefit of their community.
Areas
The top areas of needs were identified as follows, in priority
- Availability of jobs
- Cost of living, eg budget advice
- Drug and alcohol abuse
- Caring for the environment
Funding Information
A total of $11,500 is available to be distributed in 2021. No gift will exceed $5,000.
The Foundation does not Fund
Geyser Community Foundation with NOT consider applications for funding from the Taupo Fund for:
- Individual benefit
- Groups that are not incorporated, or not a registered charity, or not a school
- Arts (applications in support of the arts should be made to the Geyser Arts Fund when funding becomes available in the Taupo Districts)
- Groups operating outside New Zealand
- Disaster relief organisations
- Groups whose main purpose is to promote a message rather than provide a service; this includes religious groups
- Purchase of land and buildings
- Overseas travel
- Capital funds for the creation of loans, scholarships, grants etc.
Eligibility Criteria
Funds are available from the Taupo Community Fund to local charities and community organisations for charitable purposes which:
- Make the Taupo and Turangi Districts (including Mangakino and Kaingaroa) a better place to live
- Advance the underlying health and wellbeing of the community
- Address future and emerging needs
- Make a difference in the medium / long term
- Develop the community’s skills and knowledge
- Create positive change
- Foster effective partnerships.
