The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), National Institute of Justice (NIJ) is seeking applications for its “Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence-Inventory, Tracking, and Reporting (SAFE-ITR) program” to establish and maintain accountability for participants in the criminal justice system as it relates to sexual assaults and sexual assault evidence collection and analysis.

NIJ seeks applications from eligible States, units of local government, and federally recognized Indian tribal governments (as determined by the Secretary of the Interior) that will inventory, track, and report the status of SAKs, in keeping with the purposes of certain provisions of Title X of Public Law 113-4, the Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence Reporting (SAFER) Act of 2013.
