Grants offer between 5,000 and 15,000 euros to non-governmental organizations that seek to develop culture even in the face of shelling. Renovate the museum premises after your arrival, set up a cozy courtyard for outdoor movie screenings, or buy microphones for a podcast about Ukrainian culture during the war.
House of Europe offer more than 20 programs: scholarships designed to help Ukrainian specialists continue to work despite the war, grants for personal projects, trips to professional conferences, courses and internships in the EU and other opportunities.
The House of Europe team finances the restoration of cultural infrastructure, supports translation literature and creative cooperation between Ukraine and the EU. They take care preservation of Ukrainian cultural heritage and creative development and educational startups. Online laboratories, workshops, discussions conferences, hackathons and other educational and networking events occur regularly within the program. Goethe-Institut in Ukraine manages the House of Europe program.
Funding Information

What does the grant cover?
- Everything for repair: building materials, equipment, etc.
- Everything for furnishing the space: furniture, appliances, equipment, computer equipment, software, etc.
- The work of the construction team, furniture makers, etc.
- Fuel (up to 500 euros).
- Delivery by courier and postal services.
- Fees for team members: managers, assistants there, accountants, etc. (up to 30% of the total amount of the grant and no more than 500 euros, including taxes, per person).
Eligibility Criteria
- Non-profit public organizations working in the field of culture: circles, art spaces, associations of activists, non-governmental institutions cultures.
What is required to participate?
- Legal entity
- A portfolio of real and so-called cultural projects during a full-scale invasion.
- A strong team that will be able to realize the project even in extremely complex ones conditions of war.
- The desire to continue working for the benefit of one’s community — with their locality or another region of Ukraine.
- A clear understanding of exactly what goods you need, where they can be purchased in war conditions, and what useful projects for the community of your city or village, you will be able to implement with him.
- Risk mitigation plan.
