The Community Foundation Boulder County has launched a request for proposals for the Open Door Fund 2020.
While Open Door Fund accepts proposals from a variety of organizations, the Foundation first prioritize applications from organizations that are primarily LGBTQ-focused, and LGBTQ+ led, and then consider applications from other organizations seeking funding for LGBTQ+ serving projects and programs.
They will only consider requests for general operating support from organizations that primarily serve the LGBTQ+ community. Open Door Fund is interested in supporting new and emerging ideas, and interesting collaborations, especially those that contribute to systemic change.
Funding Information
This year’s Open Door Fund grant cycle will be divided into two separate processes: organizations with budgets less than $100K will be considered in one grantmaking process, and organizations with budgets more than $100K will be considered in a separate grantmaking process.
Eligibility Criteria
Grants from the Community Foundation must only be used for the stated purpose of the grant. Additional eligibility requirements include:
- The group or organization applying must provide services or conduct the proposed activities within Boulder County for the benefit of Boulder County residents.
- Grantees must be currently recognized as a 501(c)(3) public charity in the United States, including governmental, educational and religious institutions. Groups or organizations that do not have such designation may only apply in partnership with an IRS-qualified entity.
- The Community Foundation accepts applications/proposals for general operating funds, specific projects and programs – as well as for unrestricted expenses (general operating), capital campaigns, start-up endowments and technical assistance.
- The Community Foundation does not make grants to organizations where grant money from unrestricted or field of interest funds could be used to advance a particular political or religious doctrine.
- Organizations may not receive funding for a particular program more than once in a calendar year from multiple unrestricted Foundation grant funds. Exception: General operating requests or grants from Donor-Advised Funds.
Note: The Community Foundation does not accept unsolicited requests for funding, letters of interest or proposals.
