The Regional Arts Fund is seeking applications for Project Grants Program to support sustainable cultural development in regional and remote communities in Australia.
The Regional Arts Fund is designed to benefit regional and remote arts practitioners, arts workers, audiences and communities. The program is managed nationally by Regional Arts Australia and is delivered in all states and the Northern Territory by Regional Program Administrators.
The Regional Arts Fund is an Australian Government initiative supporting cultural activity in regional and remote Australia, the program is administered in the state by RANT Arts.
Objectives
The objectives of the Regional Arts Fund are to support and promote participation in, and access to, arts and culture in regional and remote Australia by:
- Encouraging and supporting sustainable economic, social and cultural development in regional communities;
- Developing partnerships and networks which leverage financial and/or in-kind support for specific projects and encourage ongoing collaboration;
- Developing audiences and broadening community engagement with the arts; and
- Increasing employment and professional development opportunities for, and raise the profile of, regional and remote artists.
Funding Categories
- RAF Project Grants (formerly Community Grants) – up to $10,000
- Small Project Grant – maximum amount $5,000
- Major Project Grant – maximum amount $10,000
What can the funding are used for?
The Regional Arts Fund will only fund arts or cultural development projects that are directed at achieving the objectives of the Program, as outlined above. The Regional Arts Fund may be used toward the cost of the project including but not limited to:
- Artist and arts worker fees (artists should be paid appropriately, see RAF Resources for reference)
- Travel costs (including international travel).
- Materials and small assets (up to $5000)
- Venue hire.
- Equipment hires.
- Insurance (a portion of organizations insurance appropriate to the project).
- Project administrative costs (up to 15%).
- Costs of running an organization, including wages (Recovery & Renewal Projects only).
Who can apply?
- Individuals, groups and incorporated not-for-profit organizations. · Applicants must reside in Tasmania.
- Groups and organizations must either be legally incorporated and have an ABN, or have an auspice organization manage their grant.
- Individual applicants must have an ABN or have an auspice organization manage their grant.
- Individuals who are under 18 at the time of applying must have an auspice organization manage their grant.
- Schools are only eligible to apply if they are located in a very remote area (MMM7).
- Young and emerging artists, artists from diverse cultural backgrounds, Indigenous artists and artists with disability are strongly encouraged to apply.
