If you’re a not-for-profit group planning to host an annual community event in the City of Swan, you can apply for a grant up to the value of $20,000 over two years (up to $10,000 issued each year).
The City of Swan’s Two-Year Community Event Grant is the only multi-year grant in the Swan Community Funding Scheme.
The grant assists in delivering events that encourage community participation and cultural interaction, celebrate inclusion and diversity and connect people through experiences. They encourage groups to apply from within all City of Swan locations.
Objectives
Events should meet at least four of the objectives of the Two-Year Community Event Grant:
- Foster community spirit and pride in the presentation of an inclusive, diverse, safe and friendly experience
- Utilize community spaces to create vibrancy, supporting the vision that the City of Swan is known as a great place to live, work and visit
- Broaden community engagement including community attendance or participation, enhance social or cultural connections and contribute to community health and well-being
- Contribute to local economic development by working with other local businesses e.g. locally produced food, beverages or catering
- Create community capacity building opportunities for volunteers to increase skills, experience or employment
- Develop community partnerships and networks that encourage ongoing collaboration and support.

- It provides up to $10,000 per year for up to two years to support annual community-run events.
Who can apply?
Applications are open to incorporate not-for profit organizations. Non-incorporated groups can apply through an incorporated auspice body. Non-incorporated groups must arrange an appropriate incorporated organization with an ABN to auspice the project and manage the grant on their behalf. Auspice organizations are legally and financially responsible for the grant, including:
- Confirming the application is correct and includes all required documents
- Signing the grant agreement
- Receipt, banking and administration of grant funds
- Public Liability Insurance of $10 million
- Monitoring the project including financial oversight
- Reporting requirements including evaluation and acquittal
It is the responsibility of the auspicing organization and applicant to agree on the terms and conditions of their auspice arrangement. The City is not held responsible for auspicing.
Eligibility Criteria
Projects must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- The event occurs within the City of Swan
- The event is free for the City of Swan community to attend or participate
- The applicant can identify other grants, sponsorship or sources of income to support the financial viability of the event. The City will not fund 100 per cent of the costs
- The applicant has acquitted all funding from the City of Swan
- The applicant has no outstanding debt to the City of Swan
- The applicant has or will have Public Liability insurance of $10 million
