Auckland Foundation is currently accepting applications for its 2020 Grassroots Giving Programme.
Priorities
Priority will be given to initiatives that:
- Are grassroots
- Put whanau/families at the centre
- Are collaborative
- Work holistically/provide wraparound support
- Use kaupapa Maori models of practice
- Focus on long-term solutions and are outcomes-focused
Funding Information
Grant requests can be made from $500 up to a maximum of $15,000.
Eligibility Criteria
The Grassroots Giving Programme awards donations to the following not-for-profit organisations where charitable purposes can be clearly demonstrated (e.g. through a deed or governing rules):
- Registered charities
- Incorporated societies
- Community groups or collaborative groups
- Social enterprises
- Schools (not for core education)
Exclusions
Please note that grants cannot be awarded from this funding round for any of the following:
- Projects outside of the Auckland region.
- Core or Public Health Services – e.g. medical care, medical equipment, medical research, clinical health initiatives (within mental or physical health) or disabilities services, hospitals and hospices. This includes initiatives where the service users have a physical, mental health or addiction issue, or are living with a disability.
- Core education in universities, colleges, schools, early childhood centres, including programmes, equipment, or other activities that are curriculum-related.
- Research.
- Sport, leisure and recreation – e.g. sports clubs’ operational or programme costs, sports equipment, events, trips and competitions.
- Drama or performing arts, art, museums and galleries.
- Overseas travel, expenses or exchange programmes.
- Animal charities.
- Buildings or land.
- Capital assets or equipment costing over $3,000.
- Individuals – including scholarships, international travel for conferences.
- Personal loans.
- Endowment funds.
- Venture capital initiatives.
- Urgent or retrospective applications.
- Sponsorships.
