The Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) is seeking proposals for its research projects 2017 in order to support academic researchers to engage in a structured bilateral partnership with a company. Particular attention will be paid to applications in which companies are heavily involved, particularly in the area of co-financing.
The call for proposals is addressed mainly to the heads of teams, units or research laboratories of higher education institutions in West Africa, carrying out joint research projects with companies, private or public.
The support of the AUF concerns exclusively, in whole or in part, the following headings:
- Research grants for engineers, doctoral students or post-doctoral fellows (but not for staff already paid by the university or by the company, by a contract of employment or post-doc prior to the call for proposals ).
- Mission costs related to project needs;
- The cost of the equipment and its use;
- The cost of materials and consumables.
Funding Information
- The duration of each project will be on average 3 years.
- The support provided by the AUF is up to € 30,000 per project.

- In accordance with AUF practices, applications must follow a formal procedure which provides for:
- An examination of their admissibility by the Regional Directorate of the competent AUF;
- A scientific evaluation.
Eligible Countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, the island of Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, the island of Saint Helena, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sao Tome and Principe and Togo.
