The City of Onkaparinga is seeking applications for Community Training and Development Grant.
As a part of our Community Plan 2030, they are committed to a shared vision for the City of Onkaparinga. This includes supporting the many community groups, businesses and individuals who make their community a vibrant place to live, work and play. One way which we can do this is through their Grants Program.
Objectives
The Community Training and Development Grant contributes to increasing:
- The skills and knowledge of volunteer community group leaders
- Opportunities for community group leaders to learn from, share knowledge and make connections with other community group leaders
- The skills, knowledge and leadership capability within our local communities.
Purpose

The Community Training and Development Grants provide funding to assist community groups who have strategically identified training needs for their volunteer committees and leaders to:
- Access government ce training or development opportunities
- undertake conference opportunities.
Funding Information
Grants of up to $2000 are available per application.
- The maximum grant available for training/conferences within South Australia is $375 per person, with a maximum of $750 per group
- The maximum grant available for international or interstate training/conferences (outside South Australia) is $750 per person, with a maximum of $1500 per group.
Examples of eligible activities include (but are not limited to)
- Bookkeeping training
- Coaching accreditation
What they can fund?
- Applications that can demonstrate alignment with our Community Plan 2030 and other strategic plans.
- Training or conference registration fees for attendance at international, interstate or intrastate activities that support the development of eligible groups.
- Accommodation for international and interstate training or conferences.
- Travel costs (including air fares) if the training is international, interstate or outside the Adelaide metropolitan area.
Eligibility Criteria
- Not-for-profit organizations
- unincorporated groups who apply through an appropriate 'not for profit' incorporated body that supports the application and is willing to accept responsibility for the funding (an incorporated body wanting to auspice a grant for another group must complete and sign the auspice form to be submitted with the application).
- Do not have an overdue grant acquittal with City of Onkaparinga. You will need to satisfactorily acquire previously awarded grants before being eligible to apply for this grant. Organizations that have had unsatisfactory dealings with council may also be precluded from receiving funding.
- Must not have already received funding from this grant in the current funding round
- Must not already receive funding through other sources for volunteer training and development.
