Australia: National Agriculture Traceability Grants Program

NOFO: Community Agriculture Grants in the US

Deadline: 23-Feb-23

The Australian Government is inviting organisations in an open process to apply to deliver services under the National Agriculture Traceability Grants Program – Sustainability Reporting Uplift Grant Round from June 2023 to June 2025.

A national approach to traceability reform, with government and industry co-designing an efficient, streamlined, and internationally recognised traceability system, is central to the growth of Australia’s agricultural sector. In support of this approach, this program is designed to align with the objectives under the draft National Agricultural Traceability Strategy 2023 to 2033 that was co-designed by industry and the department and was opened for consultation on 19 October 2022.

Demonstrating the sector’s sustainability credentials is becoming increasingly important for Australia’s agricultural production and export. An agriculture credential can be viewed as a provable product claim that provides assurance regarding the presence of characteristics or attributes that cannot be easily observed.

Data is a key component to any credential which helps provide the evidence and assurance that is expected from consumers in key export markets and trading partners. Verifying the agriculture sector’s sustainability credentials through consistent data standards and reporting is critical for their ongoing future market access and economic growth.

This grant program is designed to support the agriculture sector verify its sustainability credentials through consistent collection, measurement and reporting of data.
