The Mildura Rural City Council is inviting applications for the Recreation Development Grant to provide the opportunity and financial assistance to recreation groups with undertake a broad range of small to medium projects.
The Recreation Development Grant is aimed at projects that encourage new leisure initiatives with the potential to expand the range and quality of recreation opportunities or increase participation in a particular activity.
Recreation Development Grants are made available to support the goals of the Community and Council Plan 2017-2021. Through this program they aim to fund projects or programs that are targeted at:
- Increasing participation in sport and recreation.
- Ensuring the community has access to a diverse range of quality sporting and recreation facilities, programs and opportunities.
Potential Projects
Examples of projects that may be eligible for funding include:
- New or modified competitions
- Coaching clinics
- Training and development
- Purchase of minor equipment
Funding Information
Up to $3,000. Funding is provided on a $2 for $1 funding ratio. For every $2 contributed by Mildura Rural City Council to a project, successful applicants must contribute a minimum of $1.
Funding Projects
Project Ideas Funding to support future need and recovery:
- Adaptation of sporting programs and activities, especially providing:
- New leisure activities
- Increased participation
- An expanded range and quality of recreation opportunities
- Equipment that will lower the cost of participation
- Preparation for return to group activities, events or programs.
- Other emerging pandemic needs in line with funding priorities.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to apply for a Recreation Development grant you must:
- The project takes place within Mildura Rural City Council and is for the benefit of its residents.
- You are an incorporated ‘not–for-profit’ organisation with an Australian Business Number, OR auspice by one.
- You do not rely on gambling as a form of income
- The project is able to be completed within 12 months of notification of funding success.
- Your group can provide contribution towards the project on a $1 for $2 ratio (Council $2: Group $1), by way of cash or in-kind support.
- The funding is NOT deemed the responsibility of State and/ or Federal Government.
- Your organisation has no outstanding debts to Council, or has acquitted all previous grants or sponsorship to the satisfaction of Council.
