The Moreton Bay Regional Council is currently seeking applications for its Regional Economic Development Grants Program to provide funding of up to $10,000 to support community organisations in the development and implementation of initiatives that advance the Moreton Bay regional economy and align with the four pillars of the Moreton Bay Regional Economic Development Strategy:
- Leadership and Identity
- Industry Advancement
- Trade and Investment
- Knowledge, Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Funding Information
- Up to $10,000 (GST inclusive) is available per application.
Eligible Projects
- Grants are available for projects and initiatives that positively contribute towards the economic performance of the Moreton Bay Region and support the achievement of the strategic goals and aspirations of the Moreton Bay Regional Economic Development Strategy. Projects must deliver benefits to a number of local businesses and may include, but are not limited to:
- Business mentoring
- Business planning workshops and resources
- Business engagement and development events
- Business diversification or supply chain studies
- Industry or business community website resources
- Local economic activations
- Collective precinct identity and/or profiling initiatives
Eligibility Criteria
- A community organisation that applies for funding under this grant must meet the following criteria:
- Be based in the Moreton Bay Region and/or can demonstrate that the proposed project will benefit residents of the region;
- Have $20 million public liability insurance if required by Council;
- Have no outstanding debts to Moreton Bay Regional Council; and
- Have no overdue acquittals and satisfactorily accounted to Council for the expenditure of any previous Council funding.
Ineligibility Criteria
- The following are ineligible organisation types:
- For profit organisations;
- Government departments and agencies;
- Political groups; and
- Unincorporated community groups.
- Individuals are not eligible to apply for funding under this grant.
