The Australian Embassy in Belgrade is seeking proposals from all three countries of accreditation (Serbia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Montenegro) for its Direct Aid Program (DAP).
The DAP is a flexible small grants program funded from Australia’s aid budget and managed by the Australian Embassy in Belgrade.
Priorities Area
The embassy welcomes project proposals from capable NGOs, CSOs and organizations seeking funding for the activities/projects addressing the following priorities:
- Promoting human rights, freedom of expression and good governance
- Promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment as a driver for economic growth
- Fostering inclusiveness for people with disabilities.
Project Details
This section should describe the problem or issues which the proposal expects to address/solve and how the need for the proposal was determined.
- Brief description – provide a summary of the project and what applicants hope will be achieved.
- Project detail – this is applicants’ chance to tell them why the project is important and how they will implement it. What do they expect to achieve? How will their project meet the DAP goals that the program has identified? How could it lead to improved wellbeing and livelihood of the target beneficiaries? Applicants should refer to or include:
- the duration of the project and who will be responsible for its implementation,
- how many people are expected to benefit from the proposed project, both directly and indirectly
- a brief description of the current socio/economic/human rights situation related to the geographic region and beneficiaries of the project will be welcomed, and
- a brief description of all the potential risks that might jeopardise effective project implementation, and their strategy to mitigate those risks.
