The Austrian Academy of Sciences is seeking proposals for a new digital humanities programme with an aim to continue and intensify the expansion of digital humanities in Austria.

This programme is financed by the National Foundation for Research, Technology and Development. The programme is primarily aimed at young scientists who wish to apply and enhance digital methods within the framework of cooperation projects.

Funding Information

The budget for each of the projects is between a minimum of EUR 150,000 and a maximum of EUR 220,000. Up to 15 projects are envisaged. The grant shall also cover overheads in the amount of 10% of the direct project costs. The following direct costs may be applied for:

Target group

Groups of scientists from university and non-university research institutions in Austria who are still at the beginning of their careers are entitled to apply. An application should be submitted by at least two proponents from different disciplines. Partnerships between representatives of cultural heritage institutions and representatives of research facilities outside the areas of the social sciences and humanities are explicitly welcome.
