Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Activity 8 Projects in the US

Deadline: 1-Aug-22

The Office of Insular Affairs (OIA) is requesting proposals for Fiscal Year 2022 for its Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) Activity 8 projects.

The OIA BIL Activity 8 program provides grant funding to restore native vegetation and mitigate environmental hazards on mined Federal and non-Federal land in American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The goal of OIA BIL Activity 8 is to restore native vegetation on landscape disturbances that are man-made rather than from natural disasters for their long-term economic and social benefit in these areas.

Funding can be used to restore native vegetation and mitigate environmental hazards from sand, coral and/or gravel mines on Federal and non-Federal land. Landscapes, riverbeds, and seabeds that have been disturbed by the mining or retrieval of sand, coral or gravel are eligible for restoration funding. Projects may include replanting of native vegetation and/or restoration projects including mitigation of environmental hazards.
