British Embassy Manila is seeking proposals that work with local stakeholders to galvanize climate action ahead of COP26.
Objectives
- The UK will host the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties or COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland on 31 October – 12 November 2021. The climate talks will bring together heads of state, climate experts and campaigners to agree ambitious steps to prevent the catastrophic warming of their planet and build resilience to the impacts of climate change.
- The UK is committed to working with local stakeholders and joining forces with civil society, companies and people on the frontline of climate change to galvanize climate action ahead of COP26. The British Embassy Manila is seeking proposal which supports the following objectives:
- Conduct a comprehensive study to assess local business challenges in implementing climate action and identify recommendations to address these issues; and
- Increase awareness of the role of businesses and encourage business leaders to take leadership and undertake bold actions on climate through conduct of series of webinars/information sessions related to Race to Zero and Race to Resilience resulting in increased membership of Philippines’ organization’s to these campaigns ahead of COP26.
Funding Information
All bids should be in pounds sterling (GBP). Bidders are strongly advised to limit their proposals within the indicative funding bracket:
- £ 3, 500
Criteria
- Any organisation can apply for funding. They do not accept project bids submitted by individuals.
- Please note that payment will be made in arrears. They cannot make pre-payments; successful bidders should make payments and be reimbursed by the Embassy. The implementer must have an active bank account in the name of the organisation to which they can electronically transfer reimbursements.
- Organisations must prove that they are able to manage the project sum in a satisfactory manner; the Embassy may request reports by auditors.
Exemptions
They regret that they are unable to fund:
- academic courses;
- charitable activities;
- commercial activities; or
- infrastructure or construction projects.
