Bureau of DRL: Expanding Religious Tolerance in Mozambique

Deadline: 30-Apr-21

The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) has announced an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for projects that support Religious Freedom globally.

DRL’s goal is reduced inter- and intra- communal tensions and related religious freedom abuses by strengthening social cohesion and religious tolerance in Mozambique. Northern Mozambique serves as the stronghold for the Islamic State-Mozambique (IS-M), which currently fights Mozambican forces over a large area in northern Cabo Delgado province

DRL programming in Nampula and Niassa will engage a broad range of community-level stakeholders in constructive tolerance and advocacy efforts by partnering with traditional and religious leaders to elevate community voices, including those of other marginalized communities such as LGBTQI, persons with disabilities, and women.
