The Bureau of International Narcotics-Law Enforcement is requesting applications for Combat Wildlife Trafficking in Bangladesh.
The mission of the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) is to keep Americans safe by countering crime, illegal drugs, and instability abroad. The U.S. Government clearly identified transnational crime as a threat to public safety and national security, and committed through the National Security Strategy to pursue transnational threats to their source.
Project Goals
- The goal of this program is to improve Bangladesh’s will and capacity to investigate, arrest, prosecute, convict, and sentence to the fullest extent of the law the perpetrators of wildlife crime.
- To achieve this goal, INL seeks to fund programs that will provide:
- Investigation, surveillance, and monitoring equipment to law enforcement, customs, border, and port authorities;
- Training on the use of this equipment and how it can further investigations; and
- Capacity building training to strengthen the interdiction and investigative capabilities of law enforcement agencies.

- Total Funding Available: $750,000 U.S. Dollars
- Application Ceiling: Up to $750,000 U.S. Dollars
- Application Floor: At least $500,000 U.S. Dollars
- Anticipated Number of Awards: 1 award
- Initial Project Implementation Length: 24 months

- U.S.-based non-profit/non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
- Foreign-based non-profits/non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
- Applicants must also meet the following requirements to be eligible to apply to this NOFO:
- Demonstrate current country registration in Bangladesh.
