The Research Council of Norway is currently seeking applications for its Large-scale Programme on Health, Care and Welfare Services Research (HELSEVEL).
The HELSEVEL programme will promote research and innovation that enhances quality, competency and efficiency in the health, care and welfare services.
Objectives
Through focus on the four secondary objectives, the programme will:
- enhance the quality and international orientation of health, care and welfare services research;
- strengthen the foundation for knowledge-based education and professional practice, both for the individual sector and across sectors, by conducting practice-based, practice-oriented services research, especially in under-researched areas;
- generate new knowledge that benefits users/patients and the services and that creates synergies and greater coherence in services research and innovation for the health, care and welfare services;
- establish new arenas of cooperation by bringing together researchers, service providers and users from various service areas across the health and welfare sector.
Thematic Areas
This call for proposals is limited to the service areas and the six cross-cutting themes described in the work programme. The service areas include health and care services, social and welfare services, and the child protection service. The cross-cutting themes are:
- management, leadership and organisation;
- vertical and horizontal interaction;
- service innovation and implementation;
- technology and digitalisation;
- economics and resource utilisation;
- ethical, legal and social aspects of technology (ELSA).
Project Priorities
Particular priority will be given to projects that:
- address the interface between the labour and welfare services and the health care services;
- address the role of general practitioners in the health, care and/or welfare services as a whole;
- address municipal services for people with substance abuse problems, including coordinated measures and their effects;
- incorporate international research cooperation, including comparative studies and cooperation that can increase the likelihood of participating in EU-funded projects in the future.
Funding Information
The annual budget framework for the programme is roughly NOK 203 million.
Eligibility Criteria
This programme/activity normally accepts grant applications from Universities, university colleges, research institutes, other publicly funded research institutions, the public sector and the non-governmental sector.
