EU/SADC: Support to Industrialization and Productive Sectors (SIPS) Programme

Deadline: 22 June 2018

The National Arts Council is inviting applications for its 2018 funding program entitled “Arts Projects and International Bursaries”.

The National Arts Council finds itself at a critical juncture in reinventing itself to remain relevant in an ever-changing sector and following a strategic realignment process, the NAC is proud to announce its strategic move from a discipline-based approach to and introduce a programmatic approach to funding which will see funding allocation to beneficiaries located within specified programmes instead of individual disciplines.

Individual artists and organisations active in the disciplines of theatre, dance, music, visual arts, craft, literature and multi-discipline are invited to submit their applications for project funding specifying programmes within which they believe their projects would focus.

Projects proposed should be of national significance taking into account creation of new works, arts development, arts promotion, job creation, capacity building in arts entrepreneurship and facilitation of access to the arts. Furthermore, applications that promote environmental sustainability, nation building and social cohesion and have a strong community base conceived in collaboration with others working in similar fields will be preferable. Proposed projects must demonstrate impact and value for the communities they operate in. The project applied for must fulfil two or more of the following arts outcomes, economic value, creative value, social value, therapeutic value and educational value.
