The Comox Valley Community Foundation is seeking applications through its Community Enrichment Grants to fund programs, services, operating activities, and initiatives within the Comox Valley that contribute to overall community wellbeing.
Applications for a wide range of new and existing programs and services will be considered for Community Enrichment Grants including but not limited to operations, wages, overhead administrative costs, assistance with fundraising, purchase of equipment, renovation, and capital projects. The goal is to support your organizations in a manner that is most impactful for you, without restrictions if possible.
Grant Priorities
- Arts, culture and heritage
- Food insecurity and food systems
- Indigenous led or benefitting projects/organizations
- Mental health and connection
Type of Request
- Select the category that best suits your proposal:
- Ongoing projects or services (including staff costs associated with program or service delivery)
- New projects or services (including staff costs associated with program or service delivery)
- Overhead expenses (utilities, rent, insurance etc.)
- Facility renovations or upgrades
- Building and/or land acquisition
- Replacement of lost revenue
- Purchase of equipment or small capital assets (appliances, playgrounds, program equipment etc.)
- Other

Funding Information
- There is no maximum limit on the amount of funds an organization may request; however, they strongly encourage applicants to keep their requests conservative. As a guide, most of last year’s grants were funded at the $10,000 level or lower.
Who is Eligible to Apply?
- Registered Charities as defined by Canada Revenue Agency.
- Registered Societies as defined by the Societies Act of British Columbia.
- First Nations, municipalities, or public bodies performing a function of government in Canada.
- Grantees (a non-qualified done as defined in the Income Tax Act) such as a club or association.
- Eligibility for Hornby Island
- Applications from organizations located on Hornby Island will be reviewed by up to two
- committees.
- Applications for capital projects and items regardless of focus area will be considered by the Directors of the Hornby Island Community Fund.
- Applications which meet the CVCF granting priorities will be reviewed by CVCF Grants Review Taskforce.
Ineligible Proposals
- Proposals focused on the following areas are NOT accepted through this application.
- Housing insecurity and supports for individuals who are unsheltered.
- Environmental protection and climate action.
- Social and recreation programming for adults with diverse abilities.
- Professional development.
Ineligible Activity
- Scholarships or bursaries (funded elsewhere by the Foundation).
- Activities of religious organizations that serve primarily their membership and/or direct religious purposes.
- Political activities, specifically directly or indirectly supporting or opposing a political party or candidate for public office.
- The establishment of or addition to endowment funds.
- The establishment of or addition to operating reserves.
