The City of Albuquerque is currently seeking applications for the Youth & Education Grants.
Youth and Education Center means a center or home-based child care provider registered or licensed by the New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (NMECECD); a non-public PK – 12 school recognized by the New Mexico Public Education Department; an out of school time program licensed by the NMECECD; a nonprofit providing youth development services; or a youth job training provider offering services for eligible youth through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
Funding Information
The program’s mission will be to stimulate local economic activity, and growth for Albuquerque’s economy, with $7.5 million provided by the American Rescue Plan Act, through one-time grants in the amount of $10,000.
Youth & Education Grants
- Entity must be registered, have their place of incorporation, and be physically located within the Albuquerque city limits.
- Entity must have been in operation on or before July 15, 2021.
- Entity must have no unpaid code enforcement liens or be in violation of any state, federal, or local laws.
- Entity must have 50 or fewer full-time equivalent (FTE) employees. (Two part-time employees will count as one full-time). An employer may use their off-season employee count.
Eligibility Criteria
- Specific entity eligibility:
- PK – 12 School: Non-public school accredited by agencies recognized by the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED).
- Child Care Provider: Center or home provider licensed or registered with the New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (NMECECD).
- Youth Training Provider: Job training provider offering services for eligible youth through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
- Out of School Time Program: Out of school time program licensed by the NMECECD.
- Youth Development Nonprofit: 501(c)(3) operating under the National Taxonomy of Exempt Entities (NTEE) Code category “O – Youth Development.”
- For-Profit Entities:
- Sole-Proprietor/Single Member LLC:
- New Mexico Business Tax Identification Number documentation, also known as New Mexico Combined Report System (CRS)
- Current City of Albuquerque business registration
- City of Albuquerque modified W9
- LLC, Partnership, S-Corp, and Corporation:
- Full 2020 Tax Returns (or 2019 Tax Returns with 2020 extension) including Schedule C or Schedule K-1
- New Mexico Business Tax Identification Number documentation, also known as New Mexico Combined Report System (CRS)
- Current City of Albuquerque business registration
- City of Albuquerque modified W9
- Sole-Proprietor/Single Member LLC:
- Non-Profit Entities:
- Current City of Albuquerque business registration.
- City of Albuquerque modified W9
- Articles of Incorporation
- State Tax Exemption Documentation or Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Determination or Affirmation Letter of 501(c)(3) status
- if entity started before December 31, 2020: 2020 IRS Form 990 or 2019 IRS Form 990 with extension. 990 exempt non-profit organizations such as churches do not need to submit this form.

- Child Care Provider: Current State Child Care License or Registration (for Centers or Homes)
- Youth Training Provider: Verification of presence on the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions’ Eligible Training Provider List.
- Out of School Time Program: Current State Out of School Time Program License.
- Youth Development Nonprofit: State or Federal Tax Documentation of operating under the NTEE code category “O – Youth Development.”
