The International Organization for Migration is seeking applications for implementing Partner for Income Generation Activities in Niassa.
IOM Mozambique is seeking an implementing partner (IP) to develop locally driven and contextually and culturally appropriate income generation opportunities. The partner will develop income generation opportunities for vulnerable community members, focusing on youth, young men, internally displaced persons, and women/girls. Income generation projects can take the form of support to individuals, households, small groups or community enterprises/collectives or private sector, that support individuals.

- The budget proposed should not exceed 120,000 USD for the whole period of the partnership.
Key Deliverables
- In close collaboration with IOM and stakeholders in government, the IP will develop, implement and monitor interventions as outlined under the following key result areas:
- Market Assessment – conduct of a focused analysis that helps identify income generation opportunities by gaining a snapshot of local market dynamics, including supply, demand, and potential bottlenecks, to inform interventions and support sustainable livelihoods.
- Community Engagement and Consultation – conduct inclusive and participatory community consultations to ensure that all community members understand the project’s purpose including the beneficiary selection criteria, and to clarify expectations.
- Beneficiary Profiling and Registration – through consultative, transparent and gender- and conflict sensitive processes, identify and select beneficiaries of income generation support.
- Business Management Training – Provide gender and conflict-sensitive business management training including financial literacy, life skills training and entrepreneurship.
- Distribution of income generation (IG) kits – implement best practices for distributing IG kits to beneficiaries. Ensure that kits are based on market assessments, community and beneficiary consultations to ensure sustainability and feasibility.
- Project Monitoring – continuously tracking and assessing the progress of a project, ensuring it’s on track to achieve its outcomes and outputs, and making necessary adjustments to improve effectiveness through regular data collection and feedback.
- Project Reporting – provide an overview of a project’s status, progress, and impact using predefined narrative and financial templates.

- Marrupa, Nipepe, Maua and Metarica districts in Niassa
Qualification and Experience
- To be qualified for this partnership, organizations must demonstrate:
- Legal entity that is currently registered to operate in the Mozambique.
- Previous experience in implementing similar projects in the past five years.
- Presence or access in the geographic areas covered by the project (Marrupa, Nipepe, Maua and Metarica).
- Adequately staffed and resourced and have policies and mechanisms in place to report and monitor response to allegations of sexual harassment (SH) and sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA).
