100 Women is providing applications for grants to advance the safety, health, education and economic opportunities of women and girls.
100 Women is a collaborative giving circle that amplifies the giving power of everyday people to create significant change for women and girls. Their ever-growing giving circle gathers people from all walks of life to contribute and celebrate the life-changing impact that they together can have on women and girls – locally, nationally and globally. By giving donors the opportunity to vote for projects and see the impact of grants firsthand, 100 Women creates a meaningful giving experience.
Funding Information
- This year they intend to support grants of up to $50,000 to successful organisations.
- Duration: For a maximum period of 24 months.
What do they support?
- Applications will be considered for projects that:
- Improve economic outcomes for girls and women who are disadvantaged or face barriers; or
- Improve health outcomes for girls and women; or
- Improve educational outcomes for girls and women; or
- Provide safety to girls and women at risk from sexual abuse, sex trafficking or family violence; or
- Address any of the Targets for Goal 5: Gender Equality UN Sustainable Development Goals (where the beneficiaries of the grant are girls and women).
Ineligible Funding
- Expenditure that will not be supported includes:
- General ongoing operating expenses e.g. lease or occupancy costs, core staff salaries, maintenance etc. Note, for non-core programming (e.g. a pilot, research), salaries may be considered for a limited period provided that a strong rationale is given.
- Legal expenses.
- Scholarships (high school and tertiary education) or Post Doctoral Research.
- Debt reduction or operational deficits.
- Fundraising and/or capital campaigns.
- Faith based or religious activities.
- Construction, purchase or renovation of buildings/facilities, assets or equipment that are primarily for the purpose of administration functions.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organisations must be a fund, authority or institution:
- which is Charitable (or would be a charity within the meaning of the Australian Charities Act 2013 (Cth) if it were not a ‘government entity’;
- Classified with Item 1 Deductible Gift Recipient Status (DGR);
- has been operating for at least 36 months; and
- has a total annual revenue (as last reported to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission) of less than $10 million.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Overseas registered charities are not eligible. They do not support auspicing where grant funds flow through an Item 1 DGR organisation to another entity. Grants may also be made to exempt organisations that would be charitable but for their connection with government and which are Item 1 DGRs.
