The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) invites non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) working in the Kyrgyz Republic to take part in a competition of proposals to enhance engagement of women’s movement in law-making processes and ensuring government’s accountability for its international commitments in the area of gender equality and ending violence against women and girls (EVAWG).
The Call for Grant proposal is announced within the framework of the Joint EU-UN Spotlight Initiative to eliminate violence against women and girls (hereinafter the Project).
Goals
- The goals of this grant application are as follows:
- Develop a robust and sustainable training system aimed at increasing gender sensitivity and SGBV survivors’ detection skills among government lawyers and government professionals participating in the Bus of Solidarity campaign.
- Ensure that SGBV survivors’ detection skills are included as mandatory for FLAS lawyers handling SGBV cases, which will ensure sustainability in capacity building for lawyers after the completion of the implementation of the Spotlight Initiative.
Funding Information
- As a response to existing challenges, UNDP in the Kyrgyz Republic within the framework of the Joint EU-UN Spotlight Initiative for ending violence against women and girls (PID 00119491) intends to award grant grant up to $25,000 to a non-profit organization (NPO)
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications can be submitted by applicants meeting the following criteria:
- Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) established and registered in the Kyrgyz Republic (hereinafter the Applicant). Commercial organizations, government agencies, as well as noncommercial organizations established by state agencies are not allowed to participate in the call for proposals.
- Consortium of two or more non-profit organizations established and registered in the Kyrgyz Republic (hereinafter the Applicant).
- All Consortium members – Grant Applicants shall be legal entities established and registered in the Kyrgyz Republic as non-profit organizations in accordance with the current legislation.
- The Applicant shall submit the project proposal on behalf of one of the organizations authorized by the consortium member organizations to represent the consortium, with all subsequent commitments to its members and the Grantor.
- The grant applicant has a minimum of 3 years of proven experience in developing training modules in the areas of human rights, gender equality, and women’s empowerment and providing legal training in these areas.
- Experience in developing online training courses for law enforcement officers.
- Experience in cooperation with government and law enforcement agencies.
- Maximum coverage of target groups:
- At least 100 government lawyers and government professionals have successfully completed a hands-on online training course on providing gender-sensitive and victim-centered services and identifying survivors of SGBV.
- Project proposals with a higher coverage of target groups than a minimum requirement will have an advantage.
- The project proposal is composed in strict accordance with the format; the information provided is complete, accurate, and clear.
- The project proposal must be flexible in terms of timeframe and regional coverage of implementation, considering assumptions and risks of COVID-19 in each target region.
