Burkina Faso recorded its first confirmed case of COVID-19 on March 09, 2020, since then the spread of the disease has continued despite the multifaceted efforts of the Government, combined with those of all components of the country, with the support of partners. The commitment of the Government and its partners is guided by the National Response Plan to COVID-19 developed for this purpose. The UNDP support project for response to COVID-19 is an integral part of United Nations support for this National Response Plan to COVID-19 from the Government. Thus, synergies and complementarities are sought between agencies, in order to obtain a greater impact and to leave no one behind. To this end, to effectively manage this flow of partnership demand.
The purpose of this call is to subsidize the relevant actions strengthening effective and sustainable response dynamics to COVID-19, up to the available funds.
Categories
UNDP favors the following three (3) categories or types of intervention:
- Support prevention, advocacy, risk communication and community engagement (RCCE) in regions, areas and groups that are difficult to reach, in particular young people and women, the elderly, the disabled
- Support community engagement in the management of localized and inclusive response, including mapping and mobilization of assets / capacities / assets at the local level. The conflict sensitivity of interventions must be a permanent concern, especially in the context of a security crisis and displacement;
- Support the role of civil society organizations (CSOs) and the private sector (SP) in the response to COVID-19, in particular through:
- Strategic engagement of the two types of actors in reducing the risks of spread, emergency preparedness, response and recovery of COVID-19;
- Strengthening human rights-based approaches to the COVID response19 by working with national human rights defenders and NGOs.
Activity Period
The maximum duration of execution must not exceed 06 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Associations, socio-professional cooperatives, women, young people, or their apexes, etc;
- NGOs and associations working in human rights;
- Academic and similar institutions.
- Offers can be made in the three formats and targets below:
- The beneficiary of the grant may be an institution wishing to strengthen its capacities to better fulfill a relevant response function to COVID-19;
- The beneficiary of the subsidy can be an organization (NGO, association, cooperative, etc.) representing a specific group of people (members) direct beneficiaries of the subsidy.
- The grant holder may be an incorporated group benefiting only indirectly from the grant. The grant serves as a lever / platform to give voice to groups traditionally excluded from the development process, to voiceless people to strengthen their organization and their effectiveness of action.
- Each applicant structure must:
- Have a legal status which allows it to receive grants
- Attach the official recognition document
- Have good field experience
