As part of the partnership between the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and Consumption (MICC) with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has announced the proposals to support the development of the private sector in Madagascar, an initiative for the improvement of the entrepreneurship environment, particularly for MSMEs/MPMIs, is underway.
Objectives
The overall objective is to contribute to (‘improvement of the environment for entrepreneurship (strengthening of competitiveness, market access/development, formalization, support, incubation, etc.) particularly for SMEs-SMIs in Madagascar.
Sectors
Specifically, this will involve strengthening the capacities of intermediary organizations in the private sector to promote entrepreneurship initiatives in their respective sectors:
- By providing the means to support and/or formalize entrepreneurs in their sectors, By facilitating the establishment and/or strengthening of their presence in the regions.
Funding Information
The financial support proposed by the MICC and the UNDP within the framework of this call for proposals is 60,000 USD per association/NGO financed. Support can cover up to 100% of the total cost of the action (i.e. the applicant is not required to make a financial contribution to the project submitted).
Geographical area
The financial support proposed by the MICC through the UNDP within the framework of this call for proposals is intended for associative initiatives which will be implemented on Malagasy territory, particularly in the regions of the Great South.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must meet the following conditions to be eligible for a grant:
- Be an intermediary organization from civil society whose head office and activities are based in Madagascar;
- Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action and not be limited to an intermediary Cele
- Be independent of political parties/movements;
- Having the status of a cooperative association and/or NGO and recognized as such by the competent authorities (receipt and status, registration certificate, NIF, STAT)
- Cannot be applicants or beneficiaries of the call for project proposal:
- Who are in a State or who are the subject of bankruptcy, liquidation, judicial settlement or preventive composition, cessation of activity, or who are in a similar situation resulting from a procedure of the same nature existing in the national laws and regulations;
- Who, in the context of a grant awarded by the UNDP or another UN organization, have been declared in serious breach of execution due to non-compliance with their contractual obligations. Are excluded from participation in the call for proposals or cannot benefit from a grant, applicants who, at the time of the call for proposals and during its evaluation:
- Are in a situation of conflict of interest;
- Have made false declarations when applying for the call for proposals or have not provided the information required.
