The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund has invited proposals from eligible applicants. CEPF is a joint initiative of the French Agency Development, Conservation International, the European Union, the Fund for the global environment, the Government of Japan, and the World Bank is seeking proposals for the Development of a Long-Term Vision to enable civil society to engage in the conservation of biodiversity.
The Mediterranean Basin biodiversity hotspot is the second largest hotspot in the world and the largest of the five regions with a Mediterranean climate in the world. CEPF’s investment in the Mediterranean was formulated through a participatory process that involved civil society, donors and parties government stakeholders across the region.
Areas
- Conservation priorities and the best practices for management are documented, shared and used by the public and private sectors, civil society and donor agencies to guide their support for conservation in the region
- Local civil society groups that work together devote to conservation priorities collectively possess an organizational capacity sufficient technical and be effective advocates and agents’ conservation and development of the rable, while being equal partners of private sector and government agencies tales that influence decision-making in promoting sustainable societies and economies
- Adequate and appropriate financial resources are available to tackle the problem serving global priorities
- Public policies, the ability to implement, and business practices private sector companies support the conservation of global biodiversity.
- Mechanisms exist to identify and meet the new challenges of the conservation
Funding Information
- The total cost of the consultation service to develop the long term vision for Tunisia is $15,000.
Minimum Requirements
CEPF / RIT need a person or a small team of people with high-level qualifications calf to perform the work described here. The people will have, at least, 15 years of experience in the fields
- the development and functioning of CSOs,
- conservation and sustainable development in Tunisia;
- economies and likely development paths in Tunisia;
- long-term fundraising strategiesterm, including with the institutional, private and government sectors.
- Team members should doevidence of established relationships with high-level figures in government, the private sector, organizations donors and (regional) non-profit conservation and development organizations. The one or more consultants should also have demonstrated their ability to convene and facilitate advisory groups or stakeholder groups, as well as their ability to produce a technically complex strategy document.
