The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) invites not profit-making organizations to submit grant proposals for Earthquake Vulnerability and Systemic Risk Assessment.

The Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme (CDMP) of the Government of Bangladesh (GoB), implemented by the Ministry of Food and Disaster Management (MoFDM) and supported by UNDP, FCDO and the EC, has conducted Risk Assessment of Dhaka, Chittagong, and Sylhet City Corporation Area with the technical support from Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC).

Funding Information

The duration of the proposed project cannot exceed 5 months and shall be completed by 30 April 2023. The maximum amount requested from UNDRR for the implementation of this project cannot exceed 80,000 USD.

Outcome 

Earthquake risk mapping at sub-national level will support different national stakeholders and usecases, e.g., land use planners, spatial zoning; infrastructure investment; urban planning; sectorspecific planning; contingency planning, search and rescue protocols, and civil-military coordination in order to strengthening the earthquake preparedness and resilience. The earthquake risk model will cover all Districts (64 Districts) and preferably all Upazilas (553 Upazilas) of Bangladesh.
