Does your educational initiative need support? Do you have an idea for an event or project that will help students master coding and digital skills? The Code4Europe Consortium has announced a small grant competition for educational initiatives in the field of digital literacy, programming and STEM within the framework of Code Week.
They are pleased to invite you to participate in the small grant competition to support educational initiatives in the field of digital literacy, programming and STEM within the framework of Code Week. If your initiative aims to teach students to code or popularize digital skills, they are ready to provide financial and methodological support. Within the framework of the grant, you can receive funding for workshops, trainings, hackathons, the creation of local coding clubs and many other useful activities.
The aim of this grant competition is to identify and support effective local coding projects that align with the EU Code Week mission of promoting coding, computational thinking and digital skills. Projects focused on coding activities, computational thinking and digital literacy will be supported.
Objectives
- Creating opportunities for the development of innovative and scalable programming activities.
- Supporting initiatives that integrate programming into the educational process and encourage engagement.
- Promoting public participation and collaboration among stakeholders.
- Preference given to projects that bridge gender gaps and support diversity in STEM education.
Funding Information
- Grants of 1,000 euros will be awarded to the 10 best projects.
Eligibility Criteria
- The following can apply:
- Educational institutions (schools, universities, clubs, libraries)
- Public organizations and initiative groups
- If an application is submitted by teachers or trainers on behalf of an organization, it is necessary to upload a statement from a legal representative confirming the submission of the application and compliance with the requirements.
Evaluation Criteria
- Project presentation: clarity, completeness of information.
- Compliance of the project design with the goals of Code Week: significance of the goal, correspondence of activities to the tasks set, realistic timeline, availability of resources.
- Educational component on programming and computational thinking: use of learning approaches (visual languages, unplugged, other means).
- Quality of the educational offer: methodology, connection with key competences (literacy, mathematics, digital, OECD Learning Compass, CoE Key Competences for Lifelong Learning 2018), availability of assessment tools, synergy with other initiatives, cooperation with partners, long-term impact.
- Impact: Involvement of multiple classes, schools, diverse groups of participants, focus on girls and STEM education.
