The UN Women is pleased to announce the Call for Proposals for Responsible Parties to strengthen the capacity of CSOs and WROs on evidence-based policy advocacy and policy influencing in Ethiopia.
The Call for Proposal seeks to engage a Civil Society Organization to contribute to strengthening the capacity of Civil Society Organizations and Women Rights Organizations on conducting gendered legal and policy analysis and utilizing the analysis for advocacy.
Description of the Required Services
- The selected CSO is expected to provide a comprehensive program aimed at strengthening the capabilities of women’s rights organizations to effectively advocate for and influence policies and decision-making processes related to gender equality and women’s empowerment. This program will encompass the following key tasks:
- Deliver tailored capacity-building trainings and mentorship support specifically designed for representatives of women’s rights organizations focused on gendered legal and policy analysis and evidence-based policy advocacy,
- Produce a comprehensive report analyzing key policies implemented in the country using gender lens and identifying gaps in the policies,
- Identify experiences and best practices as well as proven strategies and mechanisms of evidence-based policy advocacy adapted by women’s rights organizations through a comprehensive assessment and consolidation of best practices,
- Facilitate policy dialogue platforms that bring together key stakeholders working in specific thematic areas related to gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE) to highlight emerging issues for policy advocacy based on the analysis of the policies
- Prepare and distribute policy briefs addressing selected thematic issues pertaining to GEWE.

- The budget range for this proposal should be $72,000.00 – $74,000.00

Eligibility Criteria
- Qualifications of the implementing partner
- Legally constituted organization with a valid registration in Ethiopia.
- Experience in undertaking capacity building initiatives is mandatory.
- Proven experience on evidence-based policy advocacy is required.
- Experience in engaging in community-based initiatives, projects, and programmes.
- Have experts in gender mainstreaming and areas of service required and familiar with HRs and GEWE principles
- Experience in supporting national and global planning processes, conducting policy dialogues, and engaging in evidence-based advocacy and lobbying is considered as an advantage.
- Experience in results-based project management.
- Previous working experience with United Nations is highly desirable.
