The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced the proposals for Capacity Building of CSOs in Promoting Inclusiveness and Social Cohesion.
This call for proposals (AP) is specifically linked to UNDP Madagascar, which is initiating its Country Program Document for 2021 to 2023, one of whose portfolios entitled “Democratic governance and rule of law” aims to support the Malagasy population to meet the challenges related to peace and security, the fight against corruption with zero tolerance, the autonomy and accountability of decentralized territorial communities and the sustainable management and conservation of natural resources.
Objectives
- In this pre-electoral context, the project’s approach aims to strengthen the capacities of civil society and the media as part of their commitment to promoting inclusiveness and social cohesion.
- The objective of this call for proposals is to invite Malagasy national and international Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to submit projects related to the following thematic areas:
- The strengthening of social cohesion and the prevention of conflicts;
- The promotion of inclusiveness and citizen engagement in the democratic process (more particularly women, youth and other marginalized groups);
- The promotion of debates/dialogues and/or the implementation of advocacy actions for the consolidation democracy;
- Improving transparency and accountability.
Funding Information
Proposal amounts for direct interventions in a single or multiple communities/activities or geographic areas should not exceed the maximum of US$75,000 nationwide.
Beneficiaries
Project proposals must have a direct impact on the population in the targeted areas, emphasizing the principle of “leaving no one behind”. Particular attention must be paid to the promotion of gender, the participation of young people and the inclusion of vulnerable groups including people living with disabilities, key populations in the face of HIV/AIDS, etc.
Eligibility Criteria
In line with the objective mentioned above, the eligible project leaders are:
- Associations and NGOs (national or international) with at least 2 years of formal existence
- Organizations with recognized expertise in at least one of the areas of the call for proposals proposition
