Serco has announced a call for proposals for the Healthy Communities Grants Program to improve health and wellbeing, and supports local organisations to deliver health-related programs, services and activities.
Some examples of the types of activities or programs that have been supported by a Serco Healthy Communities grant in the past include:
- Food processors for Palmyra Primary School
- Support for the Out of the Blue exhibition put on by Friends of Rockingham Arts Centre Inc
- Promotion of fitness programs for Y-striders
- Aboriginal women’s art therapy group at South Lake Ottey Family and Neighbourhood Centre
- Building repairs at the Fremantle Men’s Shed
- New cricket gear for the Hilton Cricket Club
- Support for the Weld to Life program run by PCYC Rockingham
Funding Information
In 2020 Serco is offering grants valued up to $1,500 to not for profit organisations, schools and community groups based in Perth’s South Metropolitan region legislative assembly districts.
Eligibility Criteria
Not for profit organisations, schools and community groups that deliver services in the Melville, Cockburn, Kwinana, Rockingham, Canning, Fremantle, Baldivis, Warnbro, Jandakot, Willeton, Willagee, Victoria Park, Cannington, South Perth, Southern River, Riverton, Bateman legislative assembly districts.
To be eligible, the person applying on behalf of an organisation must:
- Demonstrate the recipient is a not for profit organisation, school or community group.
- Ensure the organisation, school or community group has the appropriate insurances.
- Commit to using the grant for a program / activity / product / service that promotes health and wellbeing.
- Demonstrate how the grant is being used within 6 months of receiving the funds.
Sponsorship funding will generally not be made available for:
- Applicants whose project or service focuses primarily outside the listed geographic areas.
- Political campaigns or lobbying groups.
- Individuals pursuing personal activities.
- Businesses or individuals seeking sponsorship for commercial related activities.
Assessment Criteria
- How the nomination positively contributes to people’s health and/or wellbeing.
- How the funds will benefit the broader community.
- How the funds will benefit people from diverse backgrounds and age groups, or vulnerable people in the community.
- The program / activity / product / service is environmentally friendly or contributes to sustainability.
- The extent to which the budget is comprehensive, realistic and provides value for money.
