Call for Proposals: IOM Durable Solution Projects (Ethiopia)

The Country Office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) based in Addis Ababa is seeking project proposals from interested organizations for the provision of off-farm livelihood activities to assist the population in targeted communities in Oromia and Somali regions.

IOM is currently implementing a four-year project named “Strengthening Resilience of Disaster Affected Communities through Durable Solutions in Oromia and Somali Regions of Ethiopia” funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). The project aims to address the complexity and dimensions of displacement situations in seven (07) woredas of Somali region (Awbare, Kebribeyah, Erer, Gode) and four (04) woredas of Oromia region (Gela, Darera Arba, Ganda Buno). The project pursues a humanitarian, development, and peace (HDP) nexus-based multidimensional and integrated approach to enable communities to move towards recovery and resilience by employing durable solutions actions through livelihood activities that enhance the coping mechanisms of the communities against anthropogenic disasters and natural hazards. The purpose of the off-farm livelihood component is to improve access to employment or self-employment opportunities of vulnerable households through off-farm livelihood opportunities.

Interested organizations are hereby invited to submit proposals for the provision of off-farm livelihood assistance. The proposal should contain information on the following:
