Gret and its partners, CIRAD and CORAD, has launched a Call for Proposals addressed to the CSOs intervening in the Northern Chin State (Hakha, Falam, and Tedim Townships) and the Ayeyarwaddy Region (Bogale and Mawlamyinegyun Townships).
The interested CSOs are invited to submit innovative project proposals that will contribute to the overall objective of the ALIVE-FNS project to support food and nutrition security of vulnerable smallholder farmers and their communities by strengthening the resilience and inclusiveness of value chains.
Objectives
To achieve this outcome, the project intends to improve:
- The relations between producers and input / service providers, and the access to know-how and information related to their production
- The productive means of the producers engaged in the selected value chains through targeted agricultural investments
- The introduction of agro-ecology innovations and best practices to improve farm management
- The introduction of technical innovations and best practices to improve post-harvesting of the producers and the MSMEs
- The diversification of the food offers to improve local access and availability
Funding Information
- The maximum grant amount is 25,000 USD for the phase 1 that tentatively ends in December 2022. Gret will provide the grant through.
Eligibility Criteria
- Any CSOs that are already actively working in the project area (Northern Chin State and Ayeyarwaddy region) to tackle poverty and promote social justice are eligible ie local NGOs, traditional social and cultural institutions, professional associations, faith-based groups, youth and women societies , traders groups, local networks etc The mandatory criteria for the CSOs to get enlisted are detailed below and any CSO who does not comply with any of the following criteria are not eligible for enlistment:
- Must be a Civil Society Organization (associations, local NGOs, cooperatives or any non-profit-making legal person governed by private laws)
- CSO based and intervening in ALIVE Project area (Hakha, Falam and Tedim townships in Northern Chin State and Bogale and Mawlamyinegyun Townships in Ayeyarwaddy Region)
- Entities that have already carried out concrete activities in the sector for which the grant is requested
- Each organization can only submit one project for the present call.
- Independence from any political and religious organization or movement
