The British Embassy in Lima is calling for proposals to support grassroots women’s rights organisations and their work to enhance human rights accountability.
The focus of this call for bids is on empowering these groups with the necessary tools and resources to effectively advocate for justice and uphold women’s rights. Strengthening the capacities of these organisations is pivotal in advancing a fairer, more inclusive society in Peru.
The British Embassy in Lima invites bids for projects that focus on strengthening grassroots women’s rights organisations in Puno through sustainable capacity building, supporting them to enhance accountability and advocate for justice, ultimately advancing a more equitable society in Peru.
Objectives
- Bids should aim to deliver the following objectives:
- Conduct a baseline assessment of the main necessities of grassroots women’s rights organisations in Puno. The assessment should identify the primary challenges faced by these organisations to deliver their objectives, in particular those related to organisational structure, capability, resource management, advocacy, and outreach.
- Establish a capacity-building plan, potentially delivered through a workshop format or similar and considering a train-the-trainer approach. Bids are expected to outline a strategic plan, detailing the comprehensive breakdown of proposed activities, the process of identification for eligible organisations, and allocated spaces for networking. The proposed activity should aim to engage local participants and those from international organisations, providing an avenue to highlight the impactful work of these grassroots organisations and serving as a platform for that may lead to securing additional opportunities. It should be clear how gains can be sustained beyond the project.
- Deliver a final report of maximum 20 pages, including a 2-page executive summary. The report should include a description of the projects implemented and actionable recommendations to guarantee the sustainability of the training imparted to the organisations. These recommendations should consider actions for civil society organisations, government institutions, the international community and other relevant stakeholders. This report should also include a risk-mitigation plan that ensures the capacity-building plan’s sustainability. Any supporting materials like guidance, manuals or advocacy toolkits, can be attached as supplementary documents.
Funding Information
- Project proposals of up to £ 19,000.00 = S/87,020.00 = USD $ 22,800.00 (including relevant local taxes) will be considered. The project should commence by the end of January 2024, and conclude by mid-March 2024.
Criteria
- Bids will be assessed against the following criteria:
- Strategic fit – alignment with stated objectives and scope of work expected;
- Project viability – including a realistic description of methodology and activities to deliver the outcome and deliverables (outputs) within the project duration and sustainability after the project ends;
- Project design – including clear achievable objectives/outputs;
- Stakeholder management – including the capacity of the implementing organisation to engage with key stakeholders, including international cooperation, civil society organisations, journalists associations and government institutions in Peru, and involve local/international expertise to deliver expected outcomes;
- Value for money;
- Approach to risk management; and
- Demonstrated understanding of the context of grassroots organisations in Puno.
