Deadline: 05-Jun-20
UN Women has announced a call for project with civil society organizations for the implementation of a support program for partners in change against sexual harassment in the Marrakech-Safi region: elected officials and local officials, and professions present in public spaces.
The UN Women office for Morocco has established, with the financial support of Canadian cooperation, a program aligned with Morocco’s national priorities, the ultimate objective of which is to improve the prevention and intervention in the event of violence against women in Morocco. This program contributes to one of the three strategic priorities of intervention of UN Women: the fight against violence women and girls.
The design of this program was born from the following observation: despite significant legal advances and policies carried out by Moroccan institutions and civil society organizations in the area of combating violence against women (LCVFF), the prevalence rates of violence against women women remain high and the rate of care by Survivors’ Low violence (FSV). Analysis of the existing situation confirms the need to continue and deepen the efforts undertaken at the level of the legislative and institutional framework in the area of LCVFF, operationalization and coordination of the service chain at regional and local level, changing attitudes discriminating against women within the population and among professionals involved in the care of women survivors.
To tackle these problems and achieve its objective, the program aims to achieve two results intermediaries:
- strengthen the protection and promotion of women’s rights in the legal framework and institutional and
- create an enabling environment for women and girls survivors of violence by essential quality services available and accessible and attitudes in favor of equality improved. The second axis is developed in the pilot region of Marrakech-Safi.
