Canada: Call for Proposals for Victims of Crime

Sarkeys Foundation: Inviting Proposals from Qualified Charitable Institutions in the US

This Call for Proposals is open to community-based organizations across Manitoba to enhance supports and services to people who are victims of crime, or who experience victimization in Manitoba.

Applications are encouraged for a wide variety of initiatives to address the diverse needs of victims in Manitoba. In reviewing the applications, consideration will be given to ensuring service and initiatives are inclusive of a range of all victims based on:

The type of crime or victimization experienced is broad, and can include those who have been victims of crimes that have been reported to the police (e.g. homicide, aggravated assault, child abuse, driving fatalities or injuries) or more pervasive types of victimization that may often go unreported (e.g. sexual harassment, sexual assault and exploitation).

Projects to be funded MUST meet the criteria of one of the funding streams:

Generally, proposals up to a maximum of $100,000 per year for up to three years will be eligible, but consideration will be given to larger proposals that demonstrate significant partnerships and the potential for exceptional regional or provincial impact.

Eligibility Criteria

* A non-profit organization is an organization organized and operated exclusively for social welfare, civic improvement, pleasure, recreation, or any other purpose except profit.
