The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is seeking applications for “The Rape Prevention & Education Program (RPE)” with an aim to expand existing evaluation capacity and increase monitoring of state-level indicators of sexual violence outcomes in selected states.
Rape and sexual violence are important and widespread public health problems in the United States. With a very limited evidence-base, to assist practitioner efforts to address this public health issue, it needs to enhance program evaluation activities and capacity within state Rape Prevention and Education (RPE) programs.
The FY 2016 supplemental funding will assist RPE grantees in their capacity to implement outcome-based prevention efforts as well as identify prevention strategies emerging from the field that are ready for rigorous evaluation research and that will enhance the list of evidence-based strategies available to prevent and reduce the burden of this critical issue.
Responsibilities
- Acquire staff and/or contracted support for program evaluation and monitoring.
- Develop or expand program outcome measures component to the existing program evaluation plan.
- Conduct assessment of current state capacity to monitor SV indicators.
- Develop and implement recommendations to increase monitoring of state-level SV indicators.
- Identification of indicators to monitor outcomes stated in the program evaluation plan.
- Implement the outcome evaluation component of the enhanced program evaluation plan (to include tracking indicators of outcome(s) specified in the program evaluation plan).
- Participate in CDC-sponsored activities.
Funding Information: The approximate total supplemental funding is $2,000,000.
