CDC/PEPFAR: Support for the Provision of Sustainable Quality HIV Services in Ethiopia

Call for Strengthening HIV Care and Treatment Program in Sierra Leone

Deadline: 18 October 2016

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention is currently seeking applications for its program entitled “Support for the Provision of Sustainable Quality HIV Services in Ethiopia” with an aim to ensure continuity of quality comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services for controlling HIV in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region (SNNPR) and to further build on the transition of the full scope of comprehensive HIV/AIDS services to the ownership of the SNNPR Health Bureau (SNNPRHB).

The program is expected to improve access to integrated HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services, increase ART services coverage, decrease new HIV transmission, enhance health systems capacity to sustain quality HIV program intervention and improve efficient use of resources. These interventions will contribute to the reduction of HIV related morbidity and mortality and ultimately reach the AIDs free generation.

This opportunity supports the goals of the Government of Ethiopia’s (GoE) National Strategic Plan II, and aligns with the goal of the GOE and the PEPFAR by targeting high risk urban areas and high priority and high-risk population. It will also support systems strengthening and programmatic implementation in multiple program areas including gender based violence (GBV) care, TB/HIV, laboratory services, health systems, SI systems, HIV Prevention, care and treatment programs.
