The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund has announced the applications to update the ecosystem profile for Madagascar and the Indian Ocean Islands Biodiversity Hotspot to identify and prioritize Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) actions by civil society organizations.

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) is a joint initiative of l’Agence Française de Development (AFD), Conservation International, the European Union, the Global Environment Facility, the Government of Japan and the World Bank.

A fundamental goal is to ensure civil society is engaged in biodiversity conservation.

The successful applicant(s) will work under the supervision of the CEPF Secretariat, which will organize an initial orientation, provide all relevant background documents, and ensure coordination of the three work packages for the four targeted countries.

Eligibility Criteria

CEPF will accept proposals from any qualified organization anywhere in the world, including non-governmental organizations, private companies and academic institutions. Government-owned enterprises or institutions are eligible only if they can establish that the enterprise or institution:
